The Highlands of Hollywood

Hollywood California, the entertainment capital of the world and home to thousands of tourist attractions. Yes, tinsel town has a rich and tasteful environment and history that has people from all over the world dying to get a chance to visit the city that created the film industry. However, Hollywood is more than just a hot spot for tourism; it's also a hot spot for locals who enjoy the birthplace of one of the craziest most exhilarating party scenes in the world. Hollywood over the years has been recognized as a city that never sleeps with its wide and diverse variety of night clubs and bars that stay open well into the morning. The Hollywood party scene can been said to be the only place where one can literally meet the world being the fact that people from all over come to tinsel town to experience the nightlife Hollywood has to offer. That is why this past weekend Club Central LA decided to go deep into the heart of Hollywood's party scene by going to The Highlands of Hollywood to bring you an in depth look at why Hollywood is one of the top places to go if you like to party.

The Highlands of Hollywood, which is located on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland, is one of southern California's premier 21 and over party and special venues. This well known 30,000 sq ft multi-room nightclub has a strong reputation of being one of the hottest nightclubs to go to Friday's and Saturday's and unlike many other venues that fade out over the years The Highlands has been able to stay strong for an unprecedented 7 years. For this reason CLUB CENTRAL LA found it necessary to review the Highlands Nightclub to show us why the Hollywood party scene is unlike any other.

Parking is always an issue on the Hollywood strip, with virtually a different club or bar in every corner, club goers and bar hoppers usually have a frustrating time finding a parking spot close to the venue of their choice. The Highlands has a solution to that problem for their clientele by offering a multi complex parking facility with both self and valet parking. Parking in the structure will cost from $2 to $10 depending on your time of arrival and departure.

Doors at The Highlands usually open at 10:30 pm, but time is subject to change depending on special events or other circumstances. Once you arrive at the main doors, you will be greeted by a host of security personnel checking identification for age requirement. Be aware that The Highlands will turn away any patron that does not meet the age or dress code requirement. So please, for the sake of your time and others do not show up unless you meet both stipulations. The cover charge to enter The Highlands is $20 but they also offer its patrons the opportunity to sign up on the guest list to enter their establishment for free or for a lower fee. Once inside the Highlands, all patrons will have access to the multiple rooms and levels that The Highlands has to offer, this includes the three dance floors, patio and smoking area located on the first floor and the two outdoor dance floors and sitting lounges on the second floor. In addition to the assortment of dance floors and sitting areas, The Highlands has a total of 7 bars all around the night club for easy access for drinks and each bar is fully stocked and fully staffed with prompt bartenders. However, the most captivating room in the entire club is on the main dance area. The main dance area has a huge dance floor estimated at 1,800 sq ft that is surrounded by 3 bars and multiple reserved sitting areas. This main dance floor also has access to both the outside patio with a magnificent view of Hollywood Blvd and the stairs that lead to the second floor.

The music for the night was as upbeat and as different as the crowd itself with 5 different DJ's spinning. Each room had its own vibe and feel. On the main floor DJ Gusto had the crowd jumping by playing all of today's top 40 hits. On the two secondary dance floors, DJ Ben-There and DJ BUZZ had everyone bouncing to classic rap hits such as Next Episode by DR. DRE andBig Pimpen by Jay-Z. Upstairs, DJ Sweet P and DJ Effen Hector had people moving their hips, playing hits from the 80's and a mixture of deep house and hard house.

For those who want a private section where one can hang out with his or her friends, the Highland has you covered. The Highlands offers all its patrons the opportunity to reserve VIP treatment by ordering bottle service. Bottle service can cost from $275 to $400 and comes with your choice of liquor, juice or soda; Cristal Champagneis the club's most prestigious bottle. VIP seating is located all around the club but one should call for the exact availability of VIP sitting.

If you're looking to shut the club down, the Highlands allows people to rent out its venue at a starting rate of $5,000, remember this is a starting rate not a final rate. Price is subject to change depending on one's specifications and night.
