Rumba Room – Latin Dancing Nightclub

Universal City Walk, the legendary strip located in the heart of Universal City is one of Southern California's hot spots for nightlife. It is not surprising that City Walk has been able to create through the years a nightlife scene that is unique and all its own through its share of family entertainment to choose from. Therefore, Club Central LA decided to visit City Walk at the entertainment capital of the world and review one of Los Angeles most renowned night club, The Rumba Room.

The Rumba Room is a 12,000 sq ft venue and is one of southern California's premier 21 and over Latin style night clubs. The Rumba Room opened its doors and began its journey as one of Universal's top attractions in June of 1999. Since then, the Rumba Room has never looked back and is continuing to run strong as it nears its 10th year anniversary. What's amazing about this is that where so many other clubs fail to keep up with the times and attract new clientele, the Rumba Room has been able to keep itself connected with modern vibes and continually attract successive generation of club goers. In addition to its longevity, the Rumba Room has been able to separate itself from most nightclubs by establishing it as a top destination for dancers, this is due in part to its decision to play Latin style music and up tempo genres on a continual base. This has proven to be an effective means of attracting patrons from all different backgrounds for the fact that dance is a universal art form that most people enjoy.

Parking

Before anyone can enjoy the Rumba room experience, one must first access parking. The Rumba Room is located within Universal City's infrastructure. Parking can be a bit of a hassle due to the multitude of visitors at any given time at Universal City. However, parking within City Walk is plentiful and Universal employees do their best to make sure all clientele is able to secure a parking space quickly. General parking is $10 and preferred parking is $20. Preferred parking is located next to the strip with a minimal
walking distance. Both parking accommodation are excellent but if you are looking for parking nearest to the Rumba Room, choose general parking on Jurassic third level.

Entrance

Rumba Room opens its doors at 6:00 pm. Once you arrive at the main entrance you will be asked to show proper identification to confirm the proper age. The Rumba Room also has a strict dress code policy. If you are not dressed properly you will be ask to leave. If you are not sure what acceptable clothing is, check out the Rumba Room website for details on the appropriate dress attire. The cover charge for the Rumba Room is $20 for Fridays and Saturdays. Rumba Room also reduces or waives this fee if you are able to get on the guest list. There is not guestlist on Saturdays but if you arrive before 10:00pm entrance is $10. Make sure to call ahead of time for availability and proper registration on the guest list.

The Venue

Once inside, patrons will have access to most of what this venue has to offer in both their top and main floor. Each level is equipped with a sizable dance floor, a fully stock bar and excellent staff. Each level has a different feel and look. The main level has more of a club scene atmosphere. This lower level floor has 1000sq ft of dancing space, a stage, surrounding televisions, and access to the outdoor patio. The top level is an intimate spot with a soothing vibe and romantic colors that will satisfy any lovebirds. This space is smaller than the main dance floor with 600 sq ft of dancing space. Both bars are easily accessible on both levels and both offer a wide selection of drinks that are happily prepared by enthusiastic bartenders. If not sure what to order at the bar, try one of their signature drinks such as the Rumba-Da or the Rumba-Tini.

Music

This weekend well known DJ's made guest appearances and had the crowd moving and grooving to all of today's top hits and Latin music. Some of these DJ's were the following: Big SYPHE from radio station Power 106, Joe Matrix, Rick Rock, Terremoto, Flaver and MC Hazze.

Bottle service/VIP treatment

The Rumba Room offers its clientele the opportunity to live the VIP lifestyle by allowing you to reserve a VIP Lounge or buying one of their wide selections of bottles.Unlike many other clubs, the Rumba Room doesn't require you to buy a bottle to be treated like royalty. If all you're looking for is a nice secluded area for you and your friends, the Rumba Room is happy to accommodate these wishes by offering VIP lounges on both the lower and upper level. Each lounge is decorated in different seating decor to set a different tone and mood. If you are looking for a cool feeling environment, Club Central LA suggests you reserve the Blue lit lounge located on the second floor. However, if you want the royal treatment, then ordering bottle service is for you. Bottle service prices start from $200 to $2,500. Some of the bottles that are offered are classics like Grey Goose Vodka, Hennessy V.S.O.P. Cognac, and Cristal Champagne. If this is still not enough VIP treatment for you and your buddies, the Rumba Room will close its doors to the public and open them for you and your friends for a minimum price of $5,500. Be aware that this is only a weekday price and is subject to change. For any questions regarding this VIP Treatment at the Rumba Room, feel free to call or visit their website for more details and availability of the club.

Nightclub Appetizers

In addition to the drinks, great music and VIP treatment, the Rumba Room also offers its patron a tasty selection of appetizers. Numerous selections of appetizers are available to be enjoyed while taking a break from dancing. Some of these appetizers are the Nachos Rumberos, Anna's quesadillas, and chicken strips. So, if you find yourself hungry during dancing, grab an ppetizer and wash it down with a nice cold drink.

Management

Club Central LA would also like to make a special note about the Rumba Room management. In an industry that cares only about money, it is quite hard nowadays to find managers that really care about its clientele and the establishment's reputation. The Rumba Room has some of the finest managers in the club scene today. One manager in particular that deserves special recognition is Roberta Anderson. Ms. Anderson is an intelligent vibrant leader who truly cares about the success of the Rumba Room. She works hard day after day to ensure the success of this historic Venue.

Club Central LA would very much like to thank Ms. Anderson and the rest of the Rumba Room staff for having us.
